When this coach couldn’t find the baseball game mounds he was looking, for Portolite stepped up TO the plate
Josh Foxworthy organizes hundreds of young ball players during weekend tournaments in Indiana.
He knows the size of baseball pitching game mounds makes all the difference for tykes often using a raised mound for the first time.
Foxworthy did a plenty of research before Portolite’s 6-inch and 8-inch two-piece game mounds.
Before whipping out the credit card, he had question. “Could Portolite custom make the mounds a bit longer and wider?”
“We needed something that would offer the stability our pitchers need,” Foxworthy said. “I was looking for mounds large enough for a variety of age groups.”
Hillsboro has four fields used consistency for T-ball, baseball, softball, and Little League. More the 225 players hit the fields each weekend.
“I went with six-inch two-piece mounds and eight-inch mounds,” he said. “The size is perfect.”
His field crew also appreciates the convenience of moving the game mounds and ease of throwing them in a storage shed with tourneys are done.
Portolite pitching mounds give the pitcher the feeling of a regulation mound.
Each baseball pitching mound is:
Designed with a full body, high performance poly protected core with fiberglass reinforcement giving the pitcher a solid, no bounce, cushioned baseball mound to reduce knee and ankle strain.
Our custom mounds are covered with the highest quality turf available in clay or green colors.
Portolite’s simulated pitching rubbers last 10 times as long and have a hidden wear pad underneath the turf right in front of the pitching rubber.
They are built with gentle slops and tapered edges, giving pitches the highest level of comfort.
Portolite is proud that their mounds come with a limited 10-year warranty on the core of the mound. The gentle slopes mean no more pick-offs or falling of the pitching mound.
It’s one thing to design a custom product for someone. But Foxworthy was speechless when Portolite loaded up the mounds into a trailer in our Minnesota home based and hauled them east to Indiana.
“Like so many other industries they were having production or shipping delays through no fault of theirs,” Foxworthy said. “They wanted to make sure we got them on time. Considering the cost of gas and the distance to Indiana, I was really impressed they went over and above.”
Even the billing department was a breeze to work with.
“I plan to order more mats and mounds from Portolite,” he said. “We could not be any happier.”
Portolite Pitching Mound’s limited warranty says it all. Portolite has set the standard in lightweight, durable and portable pitching mounds since 1992.
